What's Missing?

Sisterly Love

Today I decorated all day for Christmas, and I missed my dear Sister Black a lot. She OWNS this holiday and helps the decorating process (I get over whelmed easily). I also kinda went all out on our front yard, where is she so I can brag? I very much missed her today, but I received a letter so that made it much better.

Umk, goodnight. Pictures will come soon. We took a lot today, but I am to tired to add them on the computer.

I love you Sister Black.

Sleep tight.

Gobble Gobble

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was filled with turkey, family and laughter.

I thought about what I wanted to write today. I decided that I should share my thankful story.

Two years ago, on Thanksgiving Eve I ate at a little place called Pei Weig. Yes, I did. It was late in the afternoon, I was with my mom and sister doing some shopping. That night we were joined with my cousin and went to IHOP, I was pretty full and not feeling so well so I drank water. I remember being VERY cranky and my mom scowling me. But whatev. So then I went home and went to bed. That night, 12 am to be correct, I woke up in bed (gets a little gross here) and just threw up. Ugh, I was still half asleep. Luckily my dad heard me and came in. He and my mom helped me get cleaned up and changed my sheets. Well after that, we thought it was over and so I just went back to sleep. Well one hour later I repeated that. This time no one came in. And side note, I barely was wake, its not that I was to lazy to walk to the bathroom. So I was like (in am very, sad, pathetic whisper) "Pammmmella, Pammmella. Wake up." And you not what she said? "Be quiet," and then rolled over! Well I cleaned everything and then I believe I just slept in the bathroom until my mom found me and then relocated me, and gave some motherly love. So for every hour, (NOT exaggerating) I would wake up and be sick. This happened from 12 a.m. until 5 p.m. Not a very good Thanksgiving. So I ended up at my aunt and uncles not eating that year.

Sad story indeed. BUT the up side is, every year I am so grateful to not be sick and able to eat my dinner.

I told this at the table tonight and everyone was so disturbed and grossed out, I didn't get to finish and say the good part.

Happy Thanksgiving!

heavy eyes

what do you dream about?

This morning I was laying in my bed, snuggled between my beach sheets, I called for my mom to come in. I love that she is always awake before me so she can come and lay beside me. As soon as she snuggled in my sheets too, I couldn't wait to say "Happy Birthday!" She had totally forgotten, and I was the first wish of the day. I proposed that we just stay and sleep in bed all day, and not work. ( This was impossible since we are hosting Thanksgiving and today is a pre-cooking party at our house.) And my not-so-old, very WISE, mother said, "Brittany, do you know how to make you dreams come true?" I said (still not-so-awake) "By fortune cookies and shooting stars?" "No." "How do dreams come true?" And feeling very wise she said, "They come true when you wake up."

Classroom seeps into Walmart?

Shop until IT drops!
One of the things I did this last weekend was a Psychology experiment. The object was to test it people where more likely to help girls or boys. So at Walmart, I recruited LOVELY volunteers and they held things in the there arms, and then dropped it in an isle while we watched if anyone helped them. It was a lot of fun to watch them select there items (no eggs, glass, or PIES!). The stories they returned with were priceless. Kelci wrote down the information, while I took the pictures. Perfect way to start out your Saturday morning. After we went to the parking lot and ate the million cookies that Alyssa made. Yumm Yumm.

Creating Thatchians

Step One: Go to Walmart

When Taylor and Alyssa got here on Friday night, they wanted to see Thatcher. I was like, "You where just outside, but here, I'll open the door for you again. THIS is Thatcher." But that wasn't good enough for my P-town and Flag girls. So we went for a drive. And did the coolest thing in the world, well at least to me (they thought it was LAME). But didn't take any pictures doing that, but we did document the rest of our travels through Wally World.

Step Two: Bake

AJ was totally missing a kitchen in Flag. So we made cookies, and when I say "we", I mean AJ. I did have the idea to double the reciepe. Haha, therefore we had like a thousand cookies. It was double double chocolate chip with white chocolate chips too. Yummy.

Step Three: Blog

What else do I do?

Step Four: Puzzle!

We got this at Walmart. Its extremely conplex. Taylor was VERY dedicated, and AJ had the best eye. Athough sometimes she just smashed pieces together. Ha Ha.

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

My friends FINALLY came! Opening the door, my heart was pounding! I wanted it to be them... AND then they were here! They both screamed when I opened the door and I didn't know who to hug first! So it ended up being a big Group Hug! Awww, having them at my apartment is a little weird, but in the BEST possible way. Alyssa is currently making cookies while Taylor is working hard at a puzzle we got at WallyWorld. Ashli is writing Elder, surprised? Yeah me neither! And I am, as always, blogging about my day. Aw, what a beautiful night it is turning out to be.

I will post more of our adventur(alyssa's added... "ijhyhgfvghg")es later this weekend.

she'll be coming around the mountain

LOOK! Its Rocky Surfing

This weekend my dear friends are coming to visit me, and asked for directions. I can't tell you how EXCITED I am to see my friends. To have people see MY apartment and MY school! It just makes me smile. So, I am going to post the directions here too, just incase anyone else would like to stop by. I love VISITS! I tried to be as detailed as possible. Enjoy: (visit me!)

EASIEST DIRECTIONS EVER!!!

From your house:

Get on the 101 EAST (towards desert ridge)
Get on the 51

On the 51, get in the diamond lane

STAY IN THE DIAMOND LANE!!!

You are going to go a LONG way... then the diamond lane is going to have its own personal turn off to the 10.
Just follow it. You never have to switch lanes.
Just STAY IN THE DIAMOND LANE.

You will get on the EAST 10.
STAY IN THE DIAMOND LANE on the 10.
You will travel for a WHILE.
In the DIAMOND lane you are going to have an exit for the EAST 60.

Its just the left exit (you will understand when you get there. ALL you need to remember is get on the 51, stay in the diamond lane and exit on the left exits.)

ONCE you get on the 60.... keep going straight.

Once you get to Apache Junction (you go through 5 lights), its about 30 minutes to Superior.
Its a little twisty, but not so bad, you have a double lane for a lot of the way.

then you keep going straight.

After you get out of superior, you are going to past through a tunnel and then it gets pretty twisty. and its going to be dark.., so be SAFE! and you have a double lane for the first part, so make sure to past the big trucks, they will drive you INSANE.

(DON'T speed here)Then you get to Miami. UGH, takes forever to get through this small town, then you get into globe, takes longer. but keep going STRAIGHT! you never turn...
(if you need to stop in globe, stop at the Shell. its on the left hand side towards the beginning of globe. its the nicest place)

then out out of globe, its all Indian rez. (no cell service) UGH! but there are certain places you will past. let me share:

1st is like 10 minutes down the road.. the CASINO! yeah its not that cool... but passing it gets you closer to ME!

2nd. I call it "Little Indian Town". its about 20 minutes from the casino... its boring but go 45, there are cops hiding..
then you drive for a while...its pretty boring. but its a GREAT time to think... i like to think at this part.

3rd. You are going to go through BYLAS! this means you are pretty dang CLOSE!
speed is 50, and on the right side, the entire town in lined in lights because:
- Indians use to lay in the street and have people run them over. so the town put lights up on both side of the street. but it was WAY to bright, so they took them off the left side and kept them in the right. try counting, i think i counted 121 before... let me know

4th (i think this is AFTER bylas... pretty sure) you are going to past Geronimo (spelled wrong?). this is where the boy scouts go to camp... and you are about 20-30 minutes from me.

5th!- you are going to get to FORT THOMAS this makes you go 45miles for like 5 minutes, its ANNOYING.

once you past that, you are soo super close. then you will drive for a bit, and get to PIMA! you will go through the fast part... then the slow 35mph part. lame...

but then... you will speed up and get to THATCHER, and then slow down.
ok once you are in thatcher its going to be REALLY fast to get to me, and REALLY easy.

you are going to go through a light. on the right side you will see the college.... then a block later you are going to see a Marquee, turn right at the marquee. and then its your first left.

(
i had to remove the more detailed directions of my apartment...)

see its soo easy.
just remember, don't turn till thatcher!

I can't wait to see you. call me if you have questions! love you!

So that is what I sent. I can't wait until tomorrow night! Its going to be so much fun to party like a rock.
-I am not sure if it's Megier or Alyssa that says that.

life.

I wrote this on 10/14/08. I makes me laugh because most of all of it is still true. Actually its all still true:

It's possible to be frustrated with yourself to the point were you want to leave, but your self always follows and that is even more maddening. I have made a list, of the things that go on throughout my day, maybe your day too. Just thoughts I have, or easy common sense.

Things I have observed:
- It is possible to be addicted to blogging.
- A three year old can make a better point than you.
- My cell phone is completely useless these days.
- Pink is more than a color, its a statement.
- Its going to be a long time before reproducing sounds fun.
- No matter how long you wait, homework will not do itself.
- Having no direction is my current direction.
- Turbo is my new best friend.
- Time management is a gift.
- Freshman disease might be contagious.
- Willing something to happen never works.
- If I had a super power, I would have stretchy arms.
- My phone now stays on silent.
- The synonym for redundant is life.
- Family isn't just the people that have the same DNA.
- Some music sounds like its for me. Just me.
- I would rather have 1 good talk than 100 nothing talks.
- If you haven't laid in the grass on a chilly night and looked at the stars, what have you been doing?

a day late post...

How do you spend your Monday nights?
I like to hangout with the cool kids on the block! We had a little party for our Ashli. Our 20 year old birthday girl. Was a lot of fun. Our group is basically the bomb.com. I know I was the biggest "anti-FHE" person, but I LOVE it now. I love my group, and I love that we do cool things like, I don't know, have parties for Ashli? Anyways... it was a lot fun and we almost set off the fire alarm. Haha, so the house is wired to the fire station and I bought these crazy candles that you blow out, and they SMOKE a lot, then light back up, and SMOKE a lot. It was so extremely funny. I wish I could up load this video. Tyrel... upon seeing the need for the candles to go out for reals, he licked he fingers and took the FLAMING candles out like that. It was very... dumb and looked liked it hurt. But apparently its the cool think to do, cause everyone did it. You can see the smoke in the pictures.

And for my friends that don't know the FHE term: Family Home Evening, it is a thing you do every Monday night. You normally have a lesson and then an activity.

thats the way the cookie crumbles

Consequences aren't always apparent until late in the game.
Second grade logic, yet life fact.

I bought Hanukkah stamps today and sent a MILLION letters! I love letters. Today in my very own mail box there was a letter from my dear Sister Black. She reads my letters out loud and their district laughs. Whether its at me, or with me... that's debatable.

I realized that I have about 5 billion embarrassing stories. Today I added to the list. These stories are not for my enjoyment, I am truly embarrassed. When things like this happen, I stress about seeing the people again. People must think I am insane here. Actually, I get irritated with myself, why can't I just act normal? Why do I have to be weird? I try so hard, and I think that is my problem. I over think about things. After relaying my latest "I am so embarrassed I could die" story to Ashli laughed and said, I wish I could have seen that! Typical.

My tall old roommate turned 20 today!
Happy Birthday ASH!

Ashli's parents came and took us out to Casa's! It was fun. Her dad works at the Plant with my Uncle, very cool. I have heard SO much about Ashli's parents since the last time I saw them, and I feel like I already really knew them! I was so glad I got to see them, and Ash is SO extremely like them, it was fun to watch.

Hope you have the best day and year EVER Ashli!
