Pay Back!

Let me tell you how I woke up today. Pamella unplugged the fan next to my bed and started whacking me with it as she sang "Brittany! time to get up". Pulled up all the blinds, pulled all the pillows, sheets, and blankets off my bed. Then she took my phone (a favorite game of hers lately.) So I had to get up. It was an interesting start to my day.

So Pam disappeared for some time and I was cleaning but I wanted my phone! I knew she hid it in the closet. So, very frustrated, I started going through all her normal closet hiding places. Mid-searching she walks in the closet. After a 30 minute argue/guilt session, I got my phone back.

But I was a little annoyed. I mean, HELLO... rude! So Pamella was still in the closet, and I shut the door and moved her bed in front of it, with some help from Rocky. So Pamella was locked up. Rocky wanted to move the entire bed in front of the door, but I assured him it secure enough.

Well we were in the living room, a little nervous about when she got out, how much pain we were going to be in. But silently we decided not to let her out ever. Well after about 20 minutes I heard a noise and she had escaped. Fear flooded our bodies. I was sure we might die. As we stood by my bedroom door, pulling it closed so she couldn't get out I received this picture:

We all are still alive, but it was a close one. She is the strongest person ever if she could move the bed to get out. She made a bed at the bottom of the closet and turned her little fan on and slept.

Ha Ha. Productive day.

Road Trip

Sunday June 1st!

Rocky and the boys needed to go to Boys State at NAU in Flagstaff for the week. So I drove them along with my PAL Taylor Webb. Fun trip. I had never driven to Flag before so it was interesting. We made AWESOME time ;), and FINALLY got to eat at the restaurant The Place! Then got totally lost on where to go to drop them off.

OK. I should really know this by now, but I was shocked on how many control freaks where in my car with me! BEN and TAYLOR. Tay's sister went to NAU for like ever so she knows her way around, and Ben is never wrong and I think he is used to being the one driving. So I am trying to listen for my directions (I have an extremely good talent for getting lost) and Ben would say turn, so I did, and Taylor would yell at me. At one point I pulled the car over and yelled that them, but they were to busy arguing to notice.

Mean while, Rocky and Gabe where in the backseat chilling, so they took it upon themselves to be apart of the conversation. So when we came to a stop sign, SUDDENLY they would start yelling like FREAKS "STOP THE CAR! STOP! RED MEANS STOP". I could have killed them and felt good about it, but it shut Taylor and Ben up for awhile, so it was worth the heart attack. And they continued to yell when I turned right, left, slowed down, sped up. Cute kids.

Finally we got there and the boys checked in while me and Tay sat on the couch. We were the only girls in the building (hello..."boys state") then my phone rang and blared "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls, so we felt REALLY out of place.

We wanted to say bye to all the boys at one time, but they kept getting lost and wouldn't stay together! Ben walked in to the building to get Gabe and somehow ended up coming through to front doors to find us. It was funny to watch Ben realize he had gotten lost. After sitting forever we said goodbye and started home.

I was soo happy to have Taylor on this trip. I forget how much I depend on her sometimes because I consider her apart of my family. It was nice to just talk in the car with her, and to be able to jam out to our GIRL music! I wore my COOL Girls State shirt :).

Senior Trip

Three days, two nights....... that's what we were told.
WHOA!
Nope it was 3 DAYS 4 NIGHTS.
Our bus left at 2AM we were told it was going to leave at 130. we were told to be there BY 1AM. we were encouraged to come to the bus by 1230AM to find good seats.
Well I drove with Taylor Webb. So we left at 11:30 PM. I was ready by 11PM. 2AM PEOPLE! We were insanely earlier.

Anyways we were picked up at Arrowhead Mall. The bus didn't really leave until after 2 (that set off the trip late, and we continued that pattern throughout our travels) I hadn't slept for around 19 hours. I was tired. Taylor was my sitting partner through the entire trip. I had my cute new PINK luggage. My PINK backpack and my pillow. Sleeping was not that hard for me, but I was really excited. That was night 1.

We stopped at someplace (no idea where) and was given 60 minutes to eat. That's more than enough time, but we all had the same thought process. We all went to Mc D's inside of Denny's. It was insane lines and took forever. And I really didn't want to see any of these people again and they really didn't care to see me either. So we stood in our first line. Ate and got back on the bus for the next couple hours to MAGIC MOUNTAIN!

We arrived at Magic Mountain. I am not going to lie, I am a little bit of a HUGE chicken. Although spending 3 seconds with me at this particular park would have told you that. But I tried hard to keep up with those around me. It was three of us (odd numbers are hard) me, Taylor, Rachel. So we decided to go on the newest exciting ride first... X2. OK HELLO! apparently I need a new lesson on peer pressure.

We stood in our second line, 2 hours. Then finally we got to the front. I think I was shaking as I waited for the gate to open and to strap myself into, which I was convinced at the time was, DEATH. Taylor saw that I hadn't spoken a word for the last half hour and said to me, as the ride filled with thrilled passengers returned, "look that little boy did it!" I looked over and saw this tiny boy, probably about 6 or 7. As he stood up you saw throw-up all down his shirt. So not only now was I afraid for my life, now I worried that on the off chance I survived that I would EMBARRASS myself but throwing up. Lets say I have never more quiet in my life.

The ride was fast. Can't really say much about it because other than the 2 times I squinted my eyes open and slammed them. I had them closed so tight and I was squeezing my arms around my harness hard that when it did stop, during my fits of random laughter in celebration of still living, my eyes were tearing up and I had my harness imprints in my arms. Taylor next to me kept repeating "I couldn't breathe. No seriously, I couldn't breathe" Umh. That was an enjoyable ride.

We went on a few more, or I did. Then I had to chance to ride on 3 more, but I decided why put myself through that agony. So I was the bag holder. It was nice. After spending like 6 hours there we got on the bus to arrive at our hotel. I think it was called the Double Tree Hotel. It was nice. It was me, Taylor, Rachel and a friend named Stephanie who roomed with us. And the rest of the forty students from my school all stayed on floor 7 with us. Being around my peers or ex-peers, whatever they are, made me feel more Mormon than I ever had in my life.

After beauty Queens Rachel and Taylor FINALLY got ready (I was oddly early for EVERYTHING on this trip) we went to the "Block" it was this cool shopping mall across the street from the hotel. We ate around 10:30 at TGI Fridays. Which we saw EVERYONE eating to. Goldwater students all have the same BRAIN or something. Little creepy.

On the way back to the hotel we witness the fight in the parking lot. Now during this trip I was never homesick, I didn't have time. But at this moment I really wanted my dad (remember its like 11:30ish). There was two security guys on the cool scooters that have the fat two wheels. It sounded like one of then called a guy getting into his truck "whitetrash". So that guy was a little upset and starting yelling things that would really hurt your eyes if I wrote, but the point of his message was he wanted to rip his head off. The other security guy was close but doing donuts on his scooters. Us three girls quickly ran to the outer sidewalk. If it wasn't so tense I would have laughed, it was the oddest picture in the world. As we got on the the side walk, the guy had been chasing the security man around while he was on his scooter, while the other still was doing donuts. Then about 3 huge security vans pulled up on all sides, it looked like something on COPS. night 2.

The next morning we woke up around 8:30am. Ready to go to Newport Beach. We left about 10ish, again late. It took about an hour to get there. The first thing we (3 of us) wanted to do was parasailing. So as soon as we got off the bus, that's were we went. We needed 4 min to go, 6 max. We had people in mind to go with us, but last minute they flaked. So we need people quick. We asked these two boys that we saw walking to come with us, they said yes, so we were the first one out.

It takes awhile to get from the harbor to the ocean. As were riding along on this little boat thing, it occurred to me, I had never been on a boat before, at least I couldn't recall. So again the Magic Mountain fear filled me. Oh goody. But me and Taylor were up first. I was in the front and she was behind. It was SO much fun. And really wasn't scary. It was like a ginormous swing. I loved it. They dropped us real low close to see otters and then later yelled shark at us and dropped us in the water. Haha. I was so excited. I believe that was my favorite part of the entire trip. On our way back in we saw dolphins and were they filmed Gilligan's Island and lots of other things that I have already forgotten. But it was super fun.

So then we went to the beach. I had hoped to get some sun. But Taylor had the 150SPF sunblock, so I think I repelled the sun like a mirror. Rachel brought her Skim Board. She and Taylor were determined to find boys to teach them. I had tried skim boarding the previous year, it was a painful experience I had no desire to repeat. Plus I was cold so I laid in sun. Well it took then like 3 minutes to find boys. Typical. I came on the trip for Disneyland. My friends may of had other expectations. It was entertaining to watch at least. After 20 hours (maybe it was only an hour) with these fellows, we (Rachel) exchanged numbers and we went SHOPPING. Saw a little more of the beach and then went to the hotels.

Now that night we were suppose to be at Disneyland at 10:30PM until 5AM. So the smart thing would have been to sleep. But the girl thing was to go shopping. And that's exactly what we did. I bought a pink beautiful hat to match my shoes and clutch perfectly. Pamella said it looks dorky, and she wouldn't be caught dead in it, but I am in love.

Well then the favorite boy got invited to dinner with us. Gag me. He was nice. We went to Johnny Rockets, my choice! then back to the hotel, no fights the night we were walking with a boy. Anyways we got all ready and were on the bus at 10! night 3.

Well Disneyland pretty much broke my heart this trip. It was about 10 minutes away from our hotel. We were suppose to enter around 11. We didn't get off the bus till 12. The security was insane. We didn't get on our first ride until 2. I was tired, disappointed and bummed. Basically our night was fill disappointment on so many levels. The only good part was me and Rachel met some kids that were really cool and we ended up seeing them a lot. It was a night filled with drama, high school students. and we didn't get back until 6AM and we went right to sleep.

Well around 9AM we woke and had to pack and be down stairs at 10. I was still early. And my stuff like covered the room. I rarely am this impressed with myself. Basically I am an amazing person. Then we took the 3 minute bus ride to Knotts Berry Farm. I was so tired, I would have rode anything, I had no energy left to be scared. So that's what I did. I went along with everything. But if I stood in line or sat to long I got insanely tired.

I went on this one ride that breaks more often that it works. And its the kind that you are scared stiff the entire time. Yup. Got on that baby no problem. I was so tired.

Finally got back on the bus. Going home! I could see the finish line. That was the shortest ride in my life. I have never slept so easily. We stopped at the same eating place as before (still no idea where). I was EXTREMELY mean. Like nothing you have ever seen before. I was tired. I had gotten at the most 5 hours of sleep in like the past 2 day. I had the "I hate the world" look very clearly on my face. Yet that made more people want to talk to me. Again we went to Mc D's.

I stood in line and grunted when people wanted to me to respond to the comment "you look like you just woke up". HOLD THE PHONE! we have a genius in our mist. WOW and you are only a high school graduate? Has Harvard found out about you. quick get then on the phone.
Seriously? I got that many times. Idiots. I was with morons. Anyways I was in a really cranky mood. I think I told Taylor I hated everyone, didn't even exclude her from that statement. Not my best moment but lucky I got back on the bus quickly to return to my sleep. night 4.

And the next thing I heard was to call our parents. HEAVEN! we were home. 1:30AM. I missed my bed, my towels, my keys, my purse. Everything. It was fun, just very tiring, but at least the ride home was fast, I loved that part.

Graduation

May 23. happiest day of my life. finally graduated! four hard years. stugo done with, one of the weirdest feelings.

I was all ready the night before. i ironed all my clothes myself, something that NEVER happens. And I wore my pink outfit, which was so much fun. and I woke up at like 6 a.m. and had to make myself go back to bed until 8, which totally didn't happen so like 7 I was walking around saying my speech a thousand times to anyone of my million family member that was staying at our house, or at least the ones I could corner. then finally it was 8. So I took a shower and got all ready. Shoot it was only 9.

I didn't have to meet at Meigen's house until 10:30 and the Sundome until 12. I WAS DYING! So much time to kill. From 9 to 10 I really considered throwing out my speech (the one I had been practicing for a month) and rewriting everything. But lucky I still had a little sense left and realized that would be dumb.

So around 10:15 Pam took me to Meigen's house. Just as we were leaving she pulled the car over and we said a little prayer. That comforted me so much, Pamella is so much like my mom sometimes, she always knows just what to do. When I got to Meigen's house, after she got over the shock of me being SO earlier I looked around at her room. It was so sad to see it all packed, kinda hit me a little about how old we were getting.

Then Taylor and Alyssa came to the door. I couldn't see them but the first thing they said was "of course dorkis is late!" AH HA! I in fact was not! and proceeded to point that out the rest of the day. Rachel got there and it was time to leave.... FINALLY! Alyssa had made a CD for the ride, which was so smart of her. It was a graduation mix. Featuring songs like Bye Bye Bye, Lucky, Meow Mix, Larger than Life, Closing time, I can fly..... etc. good stuff. It was nice to have a distraction, it felt like such a LONG car ride. Finally we got there, only super early. Sandra Day kids were coming out and so we blasted Bye Bye Bye and rolled down the windows and sang as we were stuck in all the traffic mess in the parking lot. Good Times there.

Then we checked in and put our robes on, me and Taylor dropped stuff at our seats, and about this time I looked at the stage and felt so small and also like there was a million butterflies in my stomach. I happen to be the line leader on the right, Taylor on the left. So we went our different ways to get ready. My side was ready by 12:15. Everyone was lined up and ready to go. At first I thought the clock was broken but in fact we did have 45minutes left to go. Basically I was on the edge of a panic attack. I wanted to hurry up and go. I had never been so early and ready in my life. One eternity later, the music started and I started walking.

That was so much fun. I was suppose to keep pace with Taylor, which was a little hard because she was so far away. When I passed my family and friends I was so concentrated on walking that I missed half of them. Finally me and Taylor met. Both of us had the BIGGEST fake smiles on. we walked and sat down. Um everything took forever, and I think I held my breath for most of it. They read my name, my family went crazy. Then I sat down and waited.... and waited...... and waited. Finally it was MY TURN!

I got at the stage and couldn't tell if I was suppose to go or not. that was embarrassing. But then I started. I looked up once and then at my paper and completely lost my spot. I believe I played it off pretty well. My speech was awesome and then after me I was done! Dr. Anderson got up to say like 2 words and we were done! afterwards was so crazy. I just hung out with Ben, Gabe, Annette and Michelle, and a little with my family. We went outside to get pictures and then left because it was raining.

My party was all inside because of the rain, which kinda sucked because we bought a ton of decorations for outside, oh well. Anyways I came home and slept until it started. There was so many kids walking around, and I was a little out of my element. But finally friends came, people my age and we had so much fun. We played signs and played in the street with poppers. Great Times.

Sarah made this really cool cake for me. Then Taylor came over, which was a sweet surprise. It was lots of fun playing with them. When everyone left I was still in my cap and gown. And loving it. I had a stack of presents, which maybe I am totally out of it but I honestly truly didn't expect anything. It was fun opening everything and reading all the comments.

I was such a fast day. A few days later I had a dream about graduating. I woke up and had to remind myself that it was over, it felt really fast. I can't believe that high school is done with. I am not sad to leave or overly excited for EA. Just in the weird middle. Anyways it was a fun fast day, something I can look back on and smile at.
