Chloe Dear...

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHLOE DEAR!
HAPPY THINGS TO COME TO YOU ALL YEAR.
IF I HAD A WISH THEN IT WOULD BE,
A HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU FROM ME!!

Dear Chloe,
Happy Birthday! I can't believe you are 4! I am so happy you are in my family. I love to talk about you and to tell everyone what a princess you are. You are my best friend, and the one person I have to see whenever I come home. You are so very smart it make me laugh. You are such a great sister, and make sure that everyone is being nice to your Sophie. You are the talk in my apartment today. I can't wait to celebrate this big day with you. I love you so much!
Love Brittany.

Rain Rain..

I love when it rains. I love the sound it makes. How it dances in the streets, and plays in the puddles. I love that it surrounds me in a huge hug as I walk to class. I love that when I look up, it sprinkles kisses all on my face. I love that it is a constant reminder of all the wonderful miracles we have on earth. I love watching the performance!

Rainy Days means rainy warm food:
Baked Potatoes
Steamed Vegetables

Soup Grill
Cheese Sandwich's

It was to rainy to walk to FHE, so we stayed in and had our own. Cody gave the lesson. Ashley printed out the lyrics to "Follow the Prophet", in which we sang EVERY verse, including the last one which we preformed rock-in-roll style and I made cookies. Then we all watched "I Hate Valentines Day", a enormously funny romantic comedy.
Rainy days are my favorite.

My sweet valentine...

You Make Me Happy

(2-14-10 chloe insisting we lay in the grass)
So because Valentines day is a Sunday, Cody and I had a Saturday date. And I have to say, I am still quite impressed with him. Let me explain.....

Saturday morning I had planned to be home with my mom. I was going to head to Mesa around 2ish to see Cody. Then Sunday Cody was coming with me to church. I had originally told him, weeks in advance, that all I really wanted was a date. So knowing the back round.... Saturday morning I called him to ask what time I should be there (I know it is weird that I want a date and I drive myself, but we take turns making the hour drive and it was my turn) and he said, "I don't know. What do you want to do?" Instantly I was angry, and done with the conversation. Obviously this meant he in fact did not plan anything and I wasn't going to spell it out for him anymore than "take me on a date for Valentines Day." I thought me saying that would be enough. And I was getting my hopes up for the idea of a drive-in movie, I thought he was planning... So I was a bit rude and just got off the phone. I complained to my mom about the thought processes of boys. After ranting, and feeling disappointed, and telling her I wasn't going, I got over it and just accepted it and was content.

(2-14-10 brittany laughing at cody)
Well. Can you say dramatic, overreacting, spoiled girl? I can.. I am quite upset with my quick imagination that makes every situation the end of the world... But this also makes for a better ending. So I am right about something.

I go to Cody's, I thought I was late, but in fact I was early. I threw out some note cards in hopes of studying Bio, that was in vain and a pure pathetic attempt, while he finished getting ready. Then his parents made us dinner, filet mignon (which is just steak for us simple folk) and bake potatoes. We ate dinner together, it was very nice. And then Cody took me out to his truck (he calls it a truck but it isn't, or doesn't resemble the stereotypical truck at all). We drove in the desert right by his house for a while. To be honest, it felt like hours but was probably only 20 minutes. This might have been because he tried to show me every hole he had gotten stuck in with his dirt bike. Then we went in those holes. Finally he got out and planted a firework in the middle of the ground. Just as I was about to get out, to watch it go off in the sky, it tilted and ended up shooting sideways in some bushes. This sent Cody and I off on another adventure to make sure we put out any fires. Then he made me close my eyes. Fact: Dirt road, ditches every where, nighttime, and Cody's driving does not add up to wanting to close your eyes. I felt like I was on the Indiana Jones ride. But he continued to instruct me to close my eyes as we walked in his front door. (No one is stupid enough not to know they are walking inside his house, his door has an appearance that demands you notice). We ending up in his backyard. Where he had a couch set up and a TV on a rock, ready for our out door movie adventure. We watched Chicken Little, and half way through his mom came out and served us hot chocolate. It was a perfect night. And an amazing Valentines date.

(2-14-10 cody posing for the camera)
I don't know if it was just the constant reminder of how much a gentleman Cody is, as he opened every door for me. Or the fact he planned. Or how he made his own fireworks. Yes those are all reasons I can't stop thinking about how great it was, but not "the reason". It was because his style was so completely cool, relaxed and "hey babe, I have this covered."

well, I only have one thing to say:

Baby, I've got the hots for you.

my Goodnight phone calls.

Because I am home this week, Cody calls me every night so we can catch up on our days. Today was very entertaining. I watched Chloe and Sophie and then at night we had dinner all together. Chloe told all her Princess stories to me, then I requested she tell my princess story. Here it is:
Once upon a time there was a Brittany. And she ate an apple, and died. Then prince charming came and saved her. He had to kiss her. And his name was Cody. And they lived happily ever after.
And this was one of my goodnight calls.

Laundry is rough in college.

So, it has become very apparent to me that I might have to many clothes. School started January 17, and I haven't done any laundry since my arrival. I don't like people touching my laundry, I mean at home its okay, but people I don't know? It's weird that they look at my clothes. So I do my clothes in the middle of the night. I started around 10:30PM. And there is one dryer that I LOVE to use because you don't have to pay for it and it stays on as long as you want. Perfect for a college kid. Well I went down to get my clothes and someone took ALL my WET clothes out of the dryer and threw them on top. HOW RUDE! I mean there are 3 other dryers and my clothes were WET! I was with Cody when this happened, and I was tried. So my first thought was to take their clothes that were almost dry now and throw them on the floor, or outside. Cody agreed with me too. Then I got over it and decided it wasn't worth it. That I would just let my clothes dry more at home. But first I had to beat down Cody so he wouldn't throw rocks in the dryer, or detergent, or pick one of his other ways to ruin this load of laundry. I just think this was so entirely rude, and had it been a little bit later, I would have let Cody do anything he wanted.

I LOVE MISSIONARIES!

My favorites are:

Sister Black's

AND

Elder Black's

We fed the missionaries today. It started out crazy, and had some tears of frustration. But then, after a pep talk from my dear mother, it was excellent. Of course it went a little backwards and the only thing that went as planned was the dishes we used. After successfully serving one dinner, we quickly washed all the plate, threw a spare pizza in the oven, and reset the table for a new group of hungry college kids. It was fun and of course.... we LOVE our missionaries.

I've got it!

I don't want to be a dentist.
I don't want to be a lawyer.
I don't want to be in business.
I don't want to be a construction worker.
I don't want to be a seamstress.

I shall be a teacher.

I have changed my major so many times over the last month. Those are a few examples. But after two days of nothing but teaching, I am convinced that I want to be a teacher. My family is sad that I have sentenced myself to poverty... joke! I made these beautiful pictures at the workshop this weekend. One side is what everyone sees on the outside, and the other side is what is in the inside.

On the inside I talked about: Chloe and Sophie, graduating, writing my siblings on missions, education major, my family, and how sunflowers follow the light.

I am pretty proud of my picture.

He is just so dang cute, and funny.
